Open Question: Why are Republicans and Bush refusing to acknowledge the reality of Iran's nuke program?
Wed, 05 Dec 2007 03:31:21 GMT
I'm just beside myself on this one:
Bush claiming that despite the evidence that Iran halted its program 4 years ago--is still a DANGEROUS THREAT to the world and the US in general; but won't elaborate *why*.
And the GOP who supported him incecessently are still claiming that the report vindicated them that Iran HAD an active weapons program, but was halted in 2003. (At a time when we didn't have a direct line of communication with Iran.)
And this somehow makes everything...all right?
I don't get it. How can the Republicans go on *pretending* that the NIE was culled in their favor--yet slaps them hard in the face over the reality of what we really found out about Iran's nuke program?
Or is this all an attempt save what little credibility and face that the GOP and Bush no longer have? Because I get the sense that the more in denial they are about the NIE's facts, the harder it will be them to tell their constituents that they were in fact WRONG and don't want to admit it.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I see the truth staring me in the face, and I just don't get how LYING about the facts is going to make me want to vote Republican--especially if this is what they stand for.
